Reading ahead: preload is the same composition

Look again at PointedAtLink in update. When the reader points at a link, Site.routeAt says whether this application draws that address. If it does, Data.preload({ ...model, route }, sources) reads what the Model would need if the route were already there.

It is Data.satisfy as a Command. Its answers arrive as one Preloaded Message, reduced into the Model as it is by then, so nothing that happened meanwhile is undone. The route does not change; the store just holds the projects already. When the click comes, the page draws Ready at once.

pointedLinks() from foldkit-primitives/dom sends the Message, as the CMS's siteConfig.ts does. There is no loader cache or preload lane: what was read waits in the same store as everything else.
